Delhi Flood: Spate in Yamuna, many areas of Delhi submerged in water, flood threat persists

Yamuna river in Delhi is in spate, water is flowing above the danger mark and  entered the low-lying areas of Delhi. People were shifted to flood relief camp in Mayur Vihar Phase-1.

Delhi Flood: The situation is bad due to floods after heavy rains in Delhi. The rising water level of Yamuna river has badly affected local areas like Geeta Colony, Majnu Ka Tila, Kashmiri Gate, Garhi Mandu and Mayur Vihar. So far more than 14,000 people have been evacuated to safer places.

Yamuna water level reaches 207.31 meters

Yamuna river in Delhi is in spate. Flood water has filled the low-lying areas. Due to which people there have to take shelter in safe places. The water level of Yamuna at the old railway bridge was recorded at 207.31 meters at 8 am on Friday. However, Yamuna river water still running above the danger mark of 205.33 meters.

Threat of diseases looms

Now the threat of water generated disease is also there for the more than thousand people living in relief camps in Delhi and nearby areas,  are facing the threat of vector-borne diseases, while on Thursday the water of Yamuna river entered the Civil Lines area.
