Delhi Metro Fare Hike: DMRC Increases Ticket Prices After 8 Years
Delhi Metro Fare Hike: There is bad news for passengers who used to travel by the Delhi Metro; from toady onwards traveling in Delhi Metro becomes expensive. DMRC has announced to increase the fare of Metro. Fares are increasing from today i.e. 25 August 2025. The fare has been increased from Rs 1 to Rs 4 depending on the distance of travel. At the same time, the ticket price for the Airport Express Line has increased by up to Rs 5.

DMRC itself gave information about this by posting on X and said that it has been implemented as a minimal increase. Meaning that very little fare has been increased. Fares have increased from today itself and it has increased according to the distance.
Prices have increased according to distance
DMRC has told that the fare of Delhi Metro has been increased according to the distance. On normal days, the fare for a distance of 0 to 2 km has increased from Rs 10 to Rs 11. The fare for a distance of 2 to 5 km has also increased by 1 rupee. Apart from this, from today passengers will have to pay Rs 32 instead of 30 for traveling between 5 to 12 km. The fare for 12-21 km has increased from Rs 40 to Rs 43. The fare for a journey of 21-32 km will be Rs 54 and for a distance of more than 32 km, the fare will be Rs 64. Similarly, the ticket price has been changed on the Airport Express Line as well. The increase on this line has been from Rs 1 to Rs 5.

At the same time, the fare charged on Sundays and holidays has also been revised. DMRC has also increased it according to the distance. In this too, the maximum fare has become Rs 54.
