Delhi NCR Is Suffocating:  The 'poison' in the air of Delhi NCR is harming people's health. Despite all efforts, pollution levels show no signs of decreasing in Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram. A blanket of smog is still visible in Delhi NCR on Monday, making breathing difficult. Despite the implementation of GRAP-3, there has been no reduction in pollution levels.

On Monday, many places in Delhi recorded AQI levels above 400, a severe level of pollution. On Monday, the air quality was "very poor," with an average AQI of 360.

Similar conditions have been observed for the past several years. During this period, dust is gradually turning into smog.

Bawana, Delhi, recorded the highest AQI level of 427 at 6 a.m. on Monday. Furthermore, six locations in Delhi recorded AQI levels above 400. These included DTU (403), Jahangirpur (407), Narela (406), Rohini (404), and Wazirpur (401). Furthermore, Mundka recorded AQI levels of 396, Nehru Nagar (389), Sonia Vihar (380), Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (386), and Dwarka (381). Consequently, people are experiencing sore throats, coughs, and difficulty breathing.

GRAP-3 also ineffective; why is pollution increasing?

Even the GRAP-3 restrictions in Delhi-NCR appear to be ineffective. Pollution remains unabated. This raises the question: how will pollution in Delhi be reduced? Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated on Saturday that pollution levels in Delhi are primarily due to PM10 emissions from construction activities, dusty roads, and traffic congestion, and that the government is accelerating the identification of hotspots.

The city's sanitation and road conditions require "significant improvement," and that deficiencies in local maintenance are contributing significantly to the deterioration in air quality. On Sunday, the air quality remained "very poor," with a 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 377.

Pollution situation is the same every year

The situation in Delhi begins to worsen with the onset of winter. Similar conditions have been observed for the past several years. During this period, dust gradually turns into smog. The Environment Minister stated that the fight for a clean Delhi is against 10 major polluting factors. Stubble burning also contributes to this, but its impact will begin to diminish as the sowing season begins.
