Delhi: Woman calls after hearing explosion in Mahipalpur; police say it was a tire burst

Delhi:  An explosion-like sound was heard near Mahipalpur, Delhi. A woman called the fire brigade. Police arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the information. They said the sound was caused by a DTC bus tire bursting. Police said there was no need to panic; nothing suspicious was found.

An explosion-like sound was heard near Mahipalpur in the national capital on Thursday. Delhi Police arrived at the scene. A woman called the fire brigade at 9:18 am, following which a Delhi Police team arrived.

Delhi Police did not find anything suspicious. Police said a DTC bus tire burst, and the guard informed them that the driver was present at the scene. There is no need to panic; it was a normal tire burst incident. The Mahipalpur area is on the Delhi-Gurugram border, and IGI Airport is also very close by.

Delhi is currently in panic mode. There is widespread panic following the November 10th bombing near the Red Fort, which killed 11 people. Dr. Umar was in the car that exploded and was also killed.

DNA confirms Umar was driving the car

DNA testing of samples confirmed that Dr. Umar Nabi was driving the car that exploded. DNA samples from Umar's mother were collected on Tuesday and sent for testing. The DNA results confirm that Umar was indeed driving the car used in the blast.

Umar was a key member of a White Terror module busted earlier this week. He was a resident of Koil village in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. A car bomb exploded near Delhi's Red Fort area on Monday evening, just hours after police busted the terrorist module and arrested eight people, including three doctors.
