Delhi's Air Quality continues to linger in the 'Poor' category
On Wednesday morning, the air quality index in the National Capital persisted in the 'poor' category. Official data revealed that in the Alipur area and Ashok Vihar, the air quality recorded 'poor' levels with AQI readings of 260 and 288, respectively, at 7 a.m.

In ITO Delhi, the AQI measured 381, falling into the 'very poor' category, while Aya Nagar registered an AQI of 184, categorized as 'moderate.' Similarly, the AQI at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (T3) stood at 232, classifying it as 'poor.'
Despite a slight improvement in air pollution on Tuesday morning following light rainfall in parts of the Delhi-National Capital Region on Monday, the air quality remained a concern.
The air quality index, ranging from 0 to 100 considered 'good,' 100 to 200 'moderate,' 200 to 300 'poor,' 300 to 400 'very poor,' and 400 to 500 or above 'severe.'
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai urged citizens to remain cautious despite the improvement after Monday's rain. He highlighted the fluctuating nature of pollution levels, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance.
Rai mentioned that while stubble burning in Punjab had ceased, increased vehicle movement during the night, especially due to the ongoing wedding season, and activities in the NCR region were still contributing to pollution. Monitoring under GRAP III (Graded Response Action Plan) continues to be stringent.
