Delhi's Mohalla clinics will convert into 'Arogya Mandir', Ayushman Bharat cards to 51 lakh people
The Union Health Ministry will seek a report from the Delhi government on the status of Mohalla clinics as well as whether they can be converted into Ayushman Arogya Mandir or not. According to official sources, the ministry will also consider the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme (AB-PMJAY) in the national capital. He said that Ayushman Bharat cards are likely to be issued to 51 lakh people.
A report will be sought from the new Health Minister of Delhi on the status of Mohalla clinics and whether they can be converted into Ayushman Arogya Mandir or not.
Central government is concerned about the allegations of corruption in Mohalla clinics
If Mohalla clinics are converted into Ayushman Arogya Mandir, they will have to follow the guidelines issued under AB-PMJAY. A source said, "The government is very concerned about the allegations of corruption in Mohalla Clinics. This scheme is for the economically weaker sections, which provides health cover of Rs 5 lakh per year to 12.37 crore families. Recently, the scheme has been expanded to include 6 crore senior citizens above 70 years of age.

51 lakh people will get Ayushman cards
The ministry will also review the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme (AB-PMJAY). According to sources, 51 lakh people are likely to be issued Ayushman Bharat cards. If Mohalla clinics are converted into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, they will have to follow the guidelines of the scheme.
Scheme not implemented in Delhi-West Bengal
The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government had refused to implement the scheme, along with this West Bengal has not yet implemented the AB-PMJAY scheme.
