Died before brain surgery:   An investigation committee has been formed into the Sawai Mansingh Hospital (SMS) fire in Jaipur. However, no one has yet claimed responsibility. Even those who claim to have state-of-the-art medical facilities are remaining silent. Postmortems are being conducted on the bodies of the eight people killed in the fire, including 50-year-old Sarvesh Devi.

The story of Sarvesh Devi:

Sarvesh Devi's family brought her to SMS Hospital four days ago. They hoped she would receive proper treatment. However, a dysfunctional system took her life. The deceased had been in an accident and was admitted to the Trauma Center's ICU for a head operation. But she too died in the horrific accident last night.

Her nephew himself recounted his ordeal.

The deceased's nephew, Ramakant, was present at the scene at the time of the incident. He personally described the horrific scene of Sunday night. Ramakant said that when the fire broke out at 11:30 p.m., he was sitting next to his aunt. He alerted the nursing staff, but they ignored him, only seeing the smoke.

A massive explosion then erupted, filling the area with smoke. The nursing staff fled, and no one came to rescue her. Sarvesh Devi also died.

Sudden Fire and Smoke Embedded Hospital

A fire suddenly broke out in the ICU on the second floor of the Trauma Center at SMS Hospital late Sunday night, causing panic throughout the hospital. Before the patients and hospital staff could understand anything, the fire had spread throughout the hospital, causing a stampede among patients and attendants.

People fled, carrying their patients, including their beds, onto the streets. As soon as the fire was reported, the hospital administration and fire department swung into action. Several fire engines arrived at the scene and efforts began to control the blaze.

Summary

Following this, with the help of hospital staff, the police evacuated critically ill patients from the ICU along with their beds, while the remaining patients were shifted to safer wards. According to reports, the fire was so intense that within minutes, the entire ICU area was filled with smoke. The fire has now been brought under control. However, the question remains: who is responsible for these deaths?
