Divine idol of Ram Lalla selected by the trust? How does the idol look?
In a recent development in the ongoing preparation of the Ram Lalla Pran Pratistha Samaroh, the idol that will be consecrated in the temple has been selected by the members of the trust.
Idol Selection Process
A trustee of the Ram Mandir Trust provided information that the selection process of the idol has been completed. The board members undertook the task of voting for the idol they believed was most appropriate to be placed in the temple.
A total of 3 idols were sculpted and presented in front of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. The board members selected the one that resembled the features of Ram Lalla the best. They examined all three idols and then gave their decision in writing. The idol that gets the most votes will be selected for further processing.
The votes were handed over to the General Secretary of the Trust, Champa Rai, and the chairman, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das.
Media reports suggest that the idol with the most votes will be placed in the "garbhagriha" of the temple, and the remaining two idols will be placed on the first and second floors of the temple.
Sculptors
Renowned sculptor Ganesh Bhatt has been working on Black-greyish Nellikari rock, while Arun Yogiraj has been working on white-grey semi-granite rock. Both sculptors hail from Karnataka. The third idol is sculpted by Satyanarayan Pandey from Jaipur, who has been working on Makrana Marble stone.
Idol
The idol will stand 51 inches in height and will depict the innocence of a five-year-old Ram Lalla. When asked about the physicality of the idol, Champa Rai said, "The design that will best depict the facial expressions, innocence, and physical features as well as divinity of the five-year-old deity will be selected."
Idol Reveal
The people of Ayodhya will get the golden chance to see the idol before it is placed in the temple. A Shobha Yatra will be undertaken to reveal the idol on January 17, 2023.
