Diwali Puja Vidhi

It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi resides only in such houses where cleanliness is taken special care of. After cleaning, take a bath and wear clean clothes, worship in the temple or place of worship in the house.

After this, decorate the whole house with flowers and leaves for the evening worship. Put toran on the doors and decorate the main entrance of the house specially. Make rangoli near the main door and place of worship to welcome Goddess Lakshmi.

Now spread a red cloth on a stool for worship and install the idol of Lakshmi Ganesh ji on it. On this day wealth is also worshipped, so keep money at the place of worship. Install a picture or idol of Kuber ji as well. Decorate the place of worship with flowers, rangoli and sandalwood. Now light a lamp of pure ghee and fragrant incense and offer roli, akshat, flowers to Ganesh ji, Lakshmi ji and Kuber ji and do aarti. If you want, you can also chant Lakshmi mantra and Kuber mantra during worship. Offer bhog after worship. Offering kheer to Goddess Lakshmi on this day is considered very auspicious. After the puja, light lamps all over the house.
