During her nation's visit to Sri Lanka, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited a renowned temple
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman paid a visit to the esteemed Kandaswamy Kovil in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, on Friday. Images of Sitharaman with a group of temple visitors were circulated on social media.

In one of the videos, the minister was seen introducing herself to the priests and striking a photo with them. Nallur Murugan Kovil, also known as Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, is one of the most significant Hindu temples in Jaffna.

According to the finance minister's office, which shared pictures from the temple visit to X, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman visits Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil in Jaffna after her three-day official visit to Sri Lanka.
The finance minister is in Sri Lanka for three days. As part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the arrival of Tamils of Indian descent (IOTs) in Sri Lanka, Sitharaman was given special recognition at the "NAAM 200" event. Global multilateral treaties are currently diminishing, according to Nirmala Sitharaman, who emphasized the significance of bilateral agreements between the nations on Thursday.
She went on to say that everyone is worried about the war in Ukraine, the crisis in the Middle East, and the potential increase in fuel prices.
The minister met with two Buddhist monks earlier on Wednesday: Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thero, the chief prelate of Malwatte, and Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero, the chief prelate of Asgiriya.
Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman talked about how India and Sri Lanka have always had close historical and cultural ties. According to a post on X by the finance ministry, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana acknowledged the friendly relations between the two nations and conveyed gratitude for India's support during Sri Lanka's hard times economically.
