DUSU Election 2025: Voting for the DUSU elections will be held today. Voting will be held in two shifts. Approximately 2.8 lakh students from 52 DU colleges will cast their votes.

DUSU Election 2025: Voting for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections will be held today, September 18th. Voting will be held in two sessions: from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm for day college students and from 3 pm to 7:30 pm for evening college students. The results will be declared tomorrow, September 19th.

The results of the Delhi University Students' Union elections will be declared tomorrow.

Approximately 2.8 lakh students from 52 colleges will cast their votes. This time, 21 students are contesting for four key panel positions. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used for voting, and counting will take place on Friday.

Voting for DUSU elections today

To ensure the smooth conduct of the DUSU elections, the university has made elaborate security arrangements on campus. Voting will be conducted using approximately 700 EVMs at 195 polling stations. Under the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP), third-year students have been allowed to contest for the posts of Vice President and Joint Secretary for the first time.

Tough competition between ABVP, NSUI, and SFI-AISA

The DUSU elections will be a close contest between the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the Congress-backed National Students Union of India (NSUI), and the Left-backed SFI-AISA alliance. Jocelyn Nandita Chaudhary of NSUI, Anjali of the Left alliance (SFI and AISA), and Arya Mann of ABVP are contesting for the post of President.

Will not be able to hold victory rallies

DUSU election results will be declared on Friday, September 19. The Delhi High Court has banned the winning DUSU candidates from holding victory rallies. The High Court has directed the police, DU, and the civil administration to take all possible steps to prevent any untoward incident during the elections.

Who won last time?

In 2024, there was a close contest between the NSUI and ABVP. Both parties won two posts each. NSUI won the posts of President and Joint Secretary, while ABVP won the posts of Vice President and Secretary.
