Earthquake in UP: An earthquake of 5.0 magnitude on the Richter scale was felt in Nepal, due to which mild tremors were also felt in North India. During this time, news of earth shaking has also come in many districts of UP. There is news of earth shaking in many districts of UP bordering Nepal.
Earthquake tremors were felt in seven districts of UP bordering Nepal, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in Sitapur, Gonda, Basti, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya and Jaunpur in UP. Mild tremors of earthquake were also felt in Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Almora and Nainital of Uttarakhand.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.0 on the Richter scale and the depth of the epicenter of this earthquake was 20 km below the ground.
Earthquake also occurred on April 3, the earth shook in UP
Earlier yesterday (3 April 2025), an earthquake of 3.1 magnitude hit Jhajjar in Haryana, whose tremors were felt in many parts of UP. The tremors of this earthquake were felt in Ayodhya, Lucknow and Varanasi. On the same day, an earthquake of 6.2 magnitude was recorded in Dadeldhura, Nepal, whose tremors also reached UP.
Although there was no news of any major damage in UP during this time, but there was an atmosphere of fear among the people.
What precautions should be taken during an earthquake
During an earthquake, go to an open area and stay away from tall buildings or hill slopes. If possible, keep an emergency kit ready, which should also contain water and first aid material. If the situation becomes serious then you should follow the instructions of the local administration.
