6.0 magnitude earthquake struck the eastern coast of Honshu
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the sea near the eastern coast of Honshu Island. Consequently, the tremors were felt most strongly in coastal areas, including Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate prefectures.
According to local media reports, the tremor lasted for several seconds, forcing people to flee their homes and buildings for open spaces. However, no major damage or loss of life or property has been reported so far.

Japan is an Earthquake-Prone Country
Japan is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, where tectonic plate activity persists. Small and moderate earthquakes occur frequently in this region, while large earthquakes occasionally cause significant devastation. Experts say that buildings and bridges in Japan are built to high seismic standards, significantly reducing the impact of earthquakes.
