Encounter in Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir... One Terrorist Neutralized; Drones Sighted in Akhnoor

The Army and the Jammu & Kashmir Police conducted a joint anti-terror operation in Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir. An exchange of fire ensued between security forces and terrorists during a cordon-and-search operation carried out in the Arahama area.

In Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir, the Army launched a search operation on Tuesday night, during which one terrorist was killed in the ensuing encounter. Officials stated that security forces initiated a cordon-and-search operation in the Ganderbal district of Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday. Officials further noted that during the Army's search operation, the cordon was strategically readjusted amidst intermittent firing. Our troops responded effectively, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist.

The Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, in a post on 'X' (formerly Twitter), stated that based on specific intelligence inputs, the Army and the Jammu & Kashmir Police launched a joint search operation in the Arahama area of Ganderbal. Additionally, drones were observed hovering near the Pakistani border.

Drones Sighted Near the LoC

Meanwhile, a suspicious drone was spotted near the India-Pakistan Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu. Drones were sighted in the Akhnoor sector of the LoC; specifically, one drone was observed over Kalith village around 9:00 PM on Tuesday evening. This drone hovered within Indian territory for several minutes.

Terrorism Being Eradicated in Kashmir

Following the attack in Pahalgam, the Army has been relentlessly hunting down terrorist hideouts across Kashmir. Since the Pahalgam incident, the Army has conducted numerous operations. The 'shelf life' of terrorists is now drawing to a close. The few terrorists who still remain are fighting a desperate, final battle for their very survival.
