Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik died on today. The 79-year-old politician took his last breath at national capital hospital Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) today afternoon. He was undergoing treatment in the hospital for a long time. Satyapal Malik has served as governor in Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and Goa. Information about his death has been given from the former governor's X handle itself.

Satyapal Malik had shared the picture on X

Let us tell you that in the month of May, a picture was posted on Satyapal Malik's X handle in which he was seen admitted in a hospital. Malik was suffering from different types of disease from very long time by looking at his picture his serious condition can be easily gauged. The former governor had tweeted that 'Many of my well-wishers are calling me, which I am unable to pick up. My condition is very bad right now. I am currently admitted in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

On May 11, he was admitted to the hospital due to urinary problems. He was suffering from kidney problems, due to which he had to be shifted to the ICU.

Became the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in 2018

On 30 September 2017 Satyapal Malik was appointed Governor of Bihar.After this, he was sent to the post of Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2018 and then to Meghalaya in 2020. He was born on 24 July 1946 in Baghpat district and joined BJP and after BJP he joined Indian National Congress, Janata Dal and Samajwadi Party. Malik was elected MP from Aligarh parliamentary constituency in 1989 and before this he was also a member of Rajya Sabha from 1980 to 1989.
