Gujarat’s Finance Minister is presenting the state’s annual budget today in Gandhinagar, This is the first Budget unveiled by the newly-constituted Assembly. Gujarat Budget 2023 is being held two months after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) retained power with a thumping majority in the December 2022 polls and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel returned for a fresh term in office.

While presenting the annual budget today State’s finance minister stated it clearly that farmers this year will be the main target for the development. The state government on Friday declared a Rs 225 crore package for the farmers of the state, while on the other hand, the government has also formed a committee that will consider all the complaints regarding the farmers across the state.
The government here also decided to bear 85% of GST for the drip irrigation in talukas which are now the dark zones. According to a government release, the fixed charge for electricity connections up to 7.5 horse powers will reduced by 50%, thus benefiting about 15 lakh farmers in the state.
