He said that he was one of the most fearless people I have met. I learned a lot from him. We haven't met often in the last few years, but there was a time when we were very close to each other. I will never forget when he surprised me by putting me on the cover of Filmfare and more importantly The Illustrated Weekly. That was the true definition of Yaaron ka Yaar!  Will miss you and our moments together.

Pritish Nandy was also an MP

Famous writer Pritish Nandy represented Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha. He was elected on a Shiv Sena ticket. He was a member of Parliament for six years and was also a member of several committees including the National Committee to celebrate 50 years of Independence, Parliamentary Committee for Defence, Parliamentary Committee for Communications, Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs. Nandy headed the Expert Committee for the upgradation of the International Film Festival of India set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and submitted its findings to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in 2011.
