Focus On PM Modi's Trip to France, Rafale Jets, and Bastille Day Celebrations
On Thursday, Narendra
Modi, the prime minister of India, arrived in Paris on a two-day trip
throughout France. French Prime Minister Elizabeth Borne welcomed PM Modi.

President Emmanuel Macron of France has extended
an invitation to the prime minister to attend the Bastille Day parade as the guest of honour. On July 13 and 14,
Prime Minister Modi will visit France.
On Friday (July 13),
the Prime Minister will be the featured guest at the annual Bastille Day Parade
which will feature a 269-strong Indian tri-service contingent.
In addition to French
fighter planes, the Indian Air Force (IAF) will send three Rafale planes to
participate in the flypast.
President Emmanuel Macron
and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet to discuss expanding bilateral
cooperation in areas like defence,
space, commerce, and investment.
Following his trip to
France, PM Modi will also visit Abu Dhabi.
Agenda
for PM Modi’s Trip to France
- PM Modi will next travel to the Elysee
Palace for a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at around
00:30 am (IST).
- Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to meet
with Senate President Gérard Larcher at 7.30 p.m. (IST).
- Meeting between PM Modi and French PM
Elisabeth Borne is scheduled for around 8.45 pm (IST).
- The prime minister is expected to land
at Orly Airport in Paris at around 4 p.m. (Indian Standard Time).
- At approximately 11 p.m. (IST), PM Modi
will speak at a La Seine Musicale event for the Indian community.
During PM Modi’s visit,
an agreement to purchase 26 Rafale M naval fighters and three more Scorpene
submarines from France is anticipated.
Twenty-two
single-seater Rafale M aircraft and four double-seater Rafale M trainer
aircraft would be included in the negotiations, with a total value of almost Rs
90,000 crore.
The three new submarines are expected to form a part of the
Scorpene agreement under Project 75, according to senior government sources.
