This marks another instance of unconfirmed news circulating about Dawood Ibrahim's health or demise. Considering such recurring reports, it appears that India's most-wanted criminal has faced multiple instances of supposed death.
Sources informed India Today TV that Dawood was hospitalized two days ago due to severe health complications. According to these sources, he is currently under strict security within the hospital, being the sole patient on his floor. Access to him is limited to top hospital authorities and close family members.
Dawood Ibrahim, the infamous mastermind behind the 1993 Mumbai blasts and India's most-wanted gangster, has long been veiled in secrecy. Despite India's claim of having irrefutable evidence of Dawood's presence in Karachi, his life remains a subject of mystery.
COVID-19
Various reports in the past have speculated on Dawood contracting Covid-19 or succumbing to a heart attack, only to be vehemently denied by his gang, asserting his well-being. The persistent cycle of death rumors circulating on social media has consistently proven unfounded.
Notably, Pakistan unintentionally acknowledged Dawood's presence in its territory in 2020 when it included his name in a list submitted to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global anti-terror funding body.
The recent unconfirmed reports of Dawood's 'poisoning' have sparked discussions on social media. However, this isn't the first time such rumors have surfaced. In 2020, false reports suggested Dawood and his wife contracted Covid-19, leading to his alleged demise. The infection did claim the life of Dawood's nephew Siraj Kaskar in Karachi.
Dawood's death from a heart attack
In 2017, reports circulated about Dawood's death from a heart attack, some even mentioning a brain tumor. However, these claims were later debunked, with Dawood's right-hand man, Chota Shakeel, confirming the gangster's good health. The elusive nature of Dawood Ibrahim's life continues to be a source of speculation and intrigue.
Dawood Ibrahim had developed gangrene on his legs
In 2016, another social media rumor suggested that Dawood Ibrahim had developed gangrene on his legs, potentially leading to amputation. However, like previous reports, these claims were ultimately debunked as false.
Dawood Ibrahim, recognized as one of the world's most wanted fugitives, heads the organized crime syndicate known as D-Company, established in Mumbai during the 1970s. His criminal pursuits encompass a range of activities, including murder, extortion, targeted killings, drug trafficking, and terrorism.
Since 2003, both India and the US have designated Dawood Ibrahim as a global terrorist, with the US offering a $25 million reward for information leading to his capture, citing his suspected involvement in the 1993 Mumbai attacks. In 2011, he held the third position on the FBI's "The World's 10 Most Wanted Fugitives" list.
Despite his notoriety, Dawood Ibrahim has skillfully eluded capture for decades.
Beyond criminal enterprises, Dawood's influence extends to financing Bollywood films and purported associations with various celebrities. Remaining a fugitive, his whereabouts continue to be a subject of intense speculation.
