Red Fort Kalash Theft: A shocking incident has come to light from Delhi's historic site Red Fort. A very precious Kalash worth one crore rupees was stolen during a religious ritual. This Kalash was studded with 760 grams of gold and 150 grams of diamonds, rubies and emeralds. This incident has shocked not only the organizers but also the Delhi Police. The victim businessman Sudhir Jain has lodged an e-FIR in this regard at the Kotwali police station, after which the police have started investigating the case and identified the suspect.

Gold Kalash worth one crore rupees disappeared from Delhi's Red Fort

A religious ritual of Jainism is going on in the 15 August Park of the Red Fort complex since August 28, which will continue till September 9. People attending this event used to come wearing dhoti-kurta. This precious urn that was stolen belonged to businessman Sudhir Jain, which he used to bring from his home every day for worship.

According to police officials, this theft took place when Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also arrived to attend the ritual on Tuesday. During this time, the attention of the organizers and devotees was focused on welcoming him.

The arrival of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had increased the commotion at the venue. Taking advantage of this chaos, the thief did his job and the urn kept on the stage suddenly disappeared. Initially people thought that the Kalash might have been kept somewhere, but when the search started after Om Birla left, the theft was revealed. This incident also raises questions on how such an incident can happen at a place considered so safe.

CCTV exposed the truth

The police searched the CCTV footage of the spot, in which the activities of the suspect have been recorded. The footage showed that the accused was mingling with the devotees and organizers wearing dhoti-kurta for the last several days. As the attention was diverted by the arrival of Om Birla, he stole the Kalash and fled before the crowd calmed down. The police have identified the suspect and his arrest is expected soon.
