Government alert on rising heat in Delhi, will take these steps amid heat action plans

Delhi government has become active regarding heat action plan. A meeting has been called at Delhi Secretariat on Monday (21 April).

Delhi Temperature: Heat has picked up pace in the capital Delhi in the month of April. The temperature has crossed 41 degrees Celsius and the Meteorological Department has already warned that this time the heat can be more intense and dangerous than last time. In view of this situation, the Delhi government has now become active regarding the heat action plan.

Government alert on rising heat in Delhi

In such a situation, a high-level meeting has been called at Delhi Secretariat on Monday (21 April) at 12 noon. This meeting will be chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and cabinet ministers of Delhi government will be present.

Apart from the Chief Minister and ministers, senior officials of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), officials of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), heads of Home, Health, Education, Labor and Social Welfare departments of Delhi Government will also attend the meeting.

What decisions can be taken in the government meeting?

According to sources, the health department can be instructed in the meeting to create special wards for the treatment of heat-related diseases in all major hospitals of the capital. Also, it can be asked to ensure adequate arrangements of ICU beds, essential medicines and cold drinking water.

Along with this, the education department can consider installing drinking water coolers and water bottle stations in schools.

There may be a change in the operating time of schools

If needed, a decision can be taken to change the operating time of schools or to keep the school closed temporarily. Not only this, the Labor Department of the Delhi Government can also issue special instructions for workers working at construction sites and roadsides. In this, there will be emphasis on providing facilities like rest breaks, shady resting places, and drinking water.

The Delhi government believes that by taking concrete steps in time, the risk caused by heat can be reduced to a great extent. A big decision regarding the Heat Action Plan is possible in Monday's meeting
