Gujarat Earthquake: Tremors felt in Saurashtra and adjoining areas

An earthquake of 3.2 magnitude hit Saurashtra, Gujarat this morning, the epicenter of which was Amreli. This is the second earthquake in the last two days.

Gujarat Earthquake: There is a commotion inside the earth again before Holi. The earth has shaken once again in Gujarat. An earthquake occurred in Saurashtra, Gujarat today. People were frightened by the tremors of the earthquake. At present, there is no news of any kind of damage from this earthquake.

This earthquake came on Thursday morning. People were seen running out of their homes after feeling the tremors. This is the second earthquake in Gujarat within just two days. Earlier on Tuesday also the earth shook in Kutch, Gujarat.

Tremors in Saurashtra

According to the Gujarat government's website Institute of Seismological Research, this earthquake in Saurashtra, Gujarat came at 10:12 am today. The intensity of this earthquake was measured 3.2 on the Richter scale. The depth of this earthquake was 6.4 kilometers inside the earth.

Its epicenter was Amreli. At present, no one has suffered any damage from this earthquake. However, people living here are definitely scared due to two earthquakes in two consecutive days.

Intensity of this earthquake was measured 3.2

Earlier, two earthquakes were felt in Kutch district of Gujarat on Tuesday. The intensity of that earthquake was recorded as 3.0 and 2.8. The Institute of Earthquake Research (ISR) gave this information. According to the district administration, there is no information of any casualties or any kind of damage due to the earthquake at present.

Second earthquake in the last two days

The Gandhinagar-based institute said that the earthquake tremors were felt at 11:12 am. The intensity of the earthquake was recorded as 3.0 and its epicenter was 16 kilometers west-south-west of Rapar in the district.

ISR said that a minute before this, an earthquake of 2.8 magnitude was felt, whose epicenter was north-north-east of Bhachau.

Summary

Kutch district is a 'very high risk' area in terms of earthquakes, where low intensity earthquakes are felt at times. The district had witnessed a devastating earthquake in January 2001 in which 13,800 people were killed and 1.67 lakh people were injured. At that time, the earthquake caused heavy damage to property in various towns and villages of the district.
