Gujarat Police to Investigate Alleged Drug Order by Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi from Pakistan
Gujarat police have obtained custody of Lawrence Bishnoi, a jailed gangster, from Punjab Police. He is being investigated in connection with a case involving the smuggling of drugs across borders.
During interrogation, one of the suspects alleged that the drugs were being transported from Pakistan to India at the direction of Lawrence Bishnoi, a notorious gangster. Consequently, Bishnoi was charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) (UAPA) Act.
Lawrence Bishnoi's criminal history is extensive, with numerous cases against him. He once issued death threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan from prison. In a previous instance, he claimed responsibility for the attack on singer Sidhu Moose Wala in Punjab's Mansa.
Bishnoi leads a gang with a broad reach, encompassing Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh. Their criminal operations extend across five countries: India, Canada, Dubai, Austria, and Mexico. The gang is involved in activities such as kidnapping, murder, and extortion for ransom.
