A special court in Bengaluru has sentenced former MP Prajwal Revanna to life imprisonment in a case of raping a woman. The Court of People's Representatives of Bengaluru has given an important verdict in the case of rape of a woman from KR Nagar. The court has given a harsh sentence. Prajwal Revanna's jail term officially started from Saturday. Prajwal Revanna, who broke down in court on Friday, had pleaded for a reduction in the sentence, but the court has given a harsh punishment for his crime.

He has been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000 under Section 354 (A) of IPC. Seven years imprisonment under section 354 (B) of IPC, 3 years imprisonment under section 354 (C) of IPC, 2 years imprisonment under section 506 of IPC, 3 years imprisonment under section 201 of IPC, 3 years imprisonment under section 66 (E) of IT Act, fine of Rs 25,000 have been imposed.
What are the allegations
Prajwal was accused of raping a woman in a house at Gannikada Tota in Holenarsipur, Hassan district. He had asked the woman to bring water for drinking and when she was bringing water in the room, he closed the door. Even after asking to open the door, he did not let her go and raped her. Prajwal, who raped her, also made a video of the rape.

Similarly, in a different place, former MP called the woman to wash clothes. When she hesitated to go into the room, Prajwal Revanna scolded her. When the women entered his room, Prajwal shut the door. He forced himself on her after locking the room. He threatened that if she told anyone, he would show the video to her son.
Ex MP Prajwal Revanna has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Now he is in a situation where he will have to serve life in jail.
