Heat wave alert: With mercury set to soar to 42 degrees in Delhi-NCR
Heat wave alert: Scorching heat is prevailing across the country. In the month of April itself, the situation in most of the states has become like May-June. The heat is being seen in the hilly areas as well as the plains. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of heat wave in Delhi till April 8.
It is estimated that during this period the maximum temperature of Delhi-NCR will be between 38 to 41 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rising temperature for the coming days.
IMD warned of further rise in temperature in the coming days
The weather had started getting harsh in the entire North India including Delhi since the month of February. The heat is so severe that people have started avoiding going out of their homes as the day progresses. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert for five days in Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
Along with this, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in many states of the Northeast and hilly areas between 6 and 10 April.
Maximum temperature above 40 degree Celsius in Delhi
Today i.e. Sunday, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 41 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature 21 degree Celsius. On Monday also, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be around 41 and the minimum temperature 22 degree Celsius.

At present, there is no relief from the heat in Delhi in the next 4 to 5 days. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh.
Severe heat wreaks havoc in UP-MP
Meteorological Department official Atul Kumar Singh said that during the months of April, May and June, the maximum temperature is expected to be above normal in the entire Uttar Pradesh. According to the forecast, the day temperature is expected to remain above 40 degrees Celsius continuously. Singh said that the minimum temperature recorded at night is also expected to be higher than normal.

At the same time, he has predicted that Bundelkhand region will become the center of severe heat. The outbreak of severe heat is being seen in many districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Barmer's temperature reached 45.6 degree Celsius
On Sunday, the temperature of Barmer district was recorded at 45.6 degree Celsius, which was the hottest in the whole of Rajasthan. Apart from this, the temperature of Jaisalmer was 45.0, Chittorgarh 43.2, Jodhpur 43, Kota 42.4 and Jalore 42 degree Celsius. Such a high temperature has been recorded in Barmer after 26 years.
