Heavy rain wreaks havoc in Mumbai, water filled on railway tracks, schools and colleges closed, people appealed to stay at home
Weather: The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mumbai, amid heavy. From Wednesday evening, it was flood like situation in the finical capital of India. Heavy rain that started suddenly in Mumbai, increased the trouble of the people. Because of this, there was water logging and traffic jam at many places.
Mumbai in distress due to continuous rain
Meanwhile the Municipal Corporation has appealed to the people to stay at home. Due to continuous rain in Mumbai, water has filled on railway tracks at many places. A huge crowd of passengers was seen at Ghatkopar railway station. Apart from this, floods were seen on the roads.

People appealed to stay at home
However the People returning home from their offices faced problems due to the rain that started in the evening. All schools and colleges in Mumbai will remain closed on Thursday. At least 14 flights coming to Mumbai had to be diverted. Road traffic along with local train services of Central Railway and Western Railway was also affected due to the rain.

Though a disaster has rained from the sky in Mumbai. Last night, torrential rains fell all over Mumbai. Due to heavy rains, many areas were flooded. There is water up to several feet on the roads. The speed of the State has been slowed down due to rains, it rained at a time when people were returning home after finishing their work. People got stuck due to heavy rains. The Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert for today.

A woman lost her life after falling in a manhole
Due to continuous rains in Mumbai, water has filled the railway tracks at many places. Apart from this, floods were seen on the roads. Due to water logging, the traffic moved intermittently. A woman fell into a manhole in Andheri, due to which she died. In the search operation that lasted for about an hour, the woman was swept away for 100 meters.
Alert for heavy rain
All though the Meteorological Department had issued, a red alert for heavy rain in Mumbai, which also had an effect. It rained so much that everything came to a standstill, low-lying areas were submerged. By 8:30 am today, clouds of crisis are hovering over Mumbai. However, the weather department has converted the red alert into orange. The areas that were most affected by last night's rain are Chembur, Ghatkopar, Navi Mumbai, Nehru Nagar Kurla, Dahisar East, Belapur and some other part.
