Hyderabad ready to witness the oath-taking ceremony of new CM Revanth Reddy
Telangana is ready to witness the oath-taking ceremony of their new chief minister Anumula Revanth Reddy today afternoon. Congress secured a majority in the assembly elections of Telangana on Dec 4 when the results of the elections were announced.
Indian National Congress won 64 seats out of the total 119 seats defeating Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) who could only succeed in winning 34. Bhartiya Janta Party was only able to make an appearance by winning just 7 seats.
Anumula Revanth Reddy as CM
The supporters of Reddy have decorated the city of Hyderabad with posters of Anumula Revanth Reddy everywhere.
Reddy is a 56-year-old congress leader who was serving as the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC). He led the election campaign from the forefront ensuring the win of the congress party.
The oath-taking ceremony of Anumula Reddy will be held in the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Hyderabad. Reddy is set to be the first congress CM of Telangana state ever since it was created in 2014.

Reddy fought the election from the Kodangal and the Kamareddy constituencies. He won from the Kodangal constituency and lost the fight from Kamareddy to the BJP candidate Venkata Ramana Reddy who also won against CM KCR in the same constituency.
Anumula Reddy was a former TDP member and an ABVP member during college times. He also strongly criticizes CM KCR and his policies.
Congress leaders fly to Hyderabad
Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rahul Gandhi, and Deependra Singh Hooda were seen at the Delhi airport as they were flying to Hyderabad to attend the oath-taking ceremony.
Earlier Rahul Gandhi gave his best wishes to Reddy on X by stating " "Congratulations to Telangana's CM Designate, @revanth_anumula Under his leadership, the Congress govt will fulfil all its guarantees to the people of Telangana and build a Prajala Sarkar," Rahul Gandhi posted from his official handle on X after meeting him.".
