If Russia-India-China partnership becomes a reality amid Trump's tariffs; what will the US President Do?
If Russia-India-China Partnership Becomes A Reality Amid Trump Tariffs: While in a press briefing in New Delhi, Deputy Chief of Mission Roman Babushkin said the US has "weaponised the economy." Roman Babushkin also said that "friends don't impose sanctions, and Russia will never impose sanctions on India." He also welcomed the visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to India.
Deputy Chief of Mission Roman Babushkin began his address by invoking Lord Ganesha in Hindi, saying, "We hope it will resume soon." He added, "Shri Ganesha does it."
Can a Russia-India-China partnership become a reality?
Roman Babushkin said, "You will never see any sanctions imposed by Russia or by the BRICS in which we all participate together. Non-UN sanctions and secondary sanctions are illegal. They only weaponise the economy. Despite the pressure of heavy sanctions on Russia, you will see that the Russian economy continues to grow.
This means that you cannot exclude a huge and important country like Russia, with its energy, industrial and human potential, from the global economy. This means that sanctions fail and more than that, they hit those who impose them."
Earlier, Trump had said that the US was going to impose an additional 25 per cent tariff on Indian exports on August 27, citing imports of Russian oil.
Trump's tariff formula is not working
However, the US has refrained from imposing similar duties on China over its trade deal with Russia. Trump has stressed that Russia has created a "special arrangement" to ensure uninterrupted supply of crude oil to India. Currently, India sources nearly 40 per cent of its oil needs from Moscow at an average discount of 5%.
According to a Russian official, India and Russia are moving towards achieving the target of $100 billion in bilateral trade by 2030.
The official also claimed that Moscow is working to reduce the trade imbalance by boosting Indian exports of machinery, pharmaceuticals, tea and rice.
On Western sanctions, Babushkin said the EU's latest package will have little impact on Russia. Deputy Chief of Mission also reiterated that India is unlikely to stop buying Russian oil.
"Committed to working together with India to overcome challenges,"
Meanwhile the official also mentioned that New Delhi and Moscow are in advanced talks on small and modular nuclear reactors.
Babushkin said, "Russia is a preferred partner for India, we have jointly developed the BrahMos cruise missile, are working on other state-of-the-art equipment including jet engines." He claimed that President Vladimir Putin has spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi twice on the situation in Ukraine.

The Russian official has confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin will hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin.
Friendship is growing between India, Russia and China;
Amid US pressure to buy oil from Russia, new diplomatic relations are being formed between India, Russia and China. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to India and his meeting with External Affairs Minister Jaishankar are signs of improvement in bilateral relations. Jaishankar said that relations should be based on mutual respect and interests.
What will the US President do now?
In view of the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump and the changing global order, the equation between these three countries is reaching a new level. In this sequence, the visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to New Delhi and his meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is giving a clear indication of improvement in bilateral relations.
