IFFCO (Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited), India's largest fertilizer cooperative, today formally launched the 'IFFCO Nano Fertilizer Awareness Mega Campaign'—a comprehensive, integrated, nationwide awareness drive aimed at encouraging the adoption of Nano fertilizers among Indian farmers. The launch ceremony was held at IFFCO Sadan, New Delhi, and was inaugurated by the Honorable Chairman of IFFCO, Shri Dilip Sanghani. IFFCO's Managing Director, Shri K.J. Patel, also graced the occasion with his distinguished presence.

Key Notes of The Event

• The campaign will be conducted extensively across 560 districts and 3,477 Tehsils in 19 States and Union Territories.

• Nano NPK Liquid (8-8-10) and Nano NPK Granular (20-10-10) have been formally notified under India's Fertilizer Control Order (FCO).

• A multi-media campaign leveraging print, television, radio, outdoor, and digital media platforms.

• IFFCO's Nano Fertilizer Manufacturing Joint Venture in Brazil is set to become operational by June 2026.

This campaign has been initiated under the inspiration of the Honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and the Honorable Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Amit Shah, and aligns with the national missions of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-reliant India) and 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi' (Prosperity through Cooperation). This initiative also enjoys the distinguished support of the Honorable Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and the Honorable Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, J.P. Nadda.

The historic notification regarding Nano NPK Liquid (8-8-10) and Nano NPK Granular (20-10-10) within the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) of the Gazette of India was hailed as a significant milestone in India's journey of agricultural innovation. He further stated that IFFCO's innovation hub—IFFCO-Nanoventures, located in Coimbatore—and the upcoming nano-fertilizer manufacturing plant in Brazil (poised to become operational by June 2026) stand as a testament to India's growing global prowess in applying nanotechnology to agriculture.

Speaking on this occasion, IFFCO Chairman Shri Dilip Sanghani remarked that India today stands at a historic confluence where tradition and technology converge—a convergence that is steering Indian agriculture in a new direction. Invoking the vision of the Honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, he asserted that India's prosperity must emanate from its villages and farmers, and that an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-reliant India) can only be realized when its farmers are empowered and prosperous.

He noted that the mantra of 'Sahakar Se Samriddhi' (Prosperity through Cooperation)—under which cooperative institutions serve as conduits for delivering new technologies and resources to farmers—perfectly reflects the spirit of this campaign and truly encapsulates the essence of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat, Atmanirbhar Krishi' (Self-reliant India, Self-reliant Agriculture).

Shri Sanghani described the nano-fertilizer revolution as a transformative moment for Indian agriculture. He recalled that the Honorable Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, has personally championed Nano Urea and Nano DAP as 'game-changers' for India's agricultural sector and as a pathway toward natural farming. He emphasized that a single 500 ml bottle of Nano Urea Plus offers far superior nutrient efficiency compared to traditional urea, while simultaneously addressing critical challenges such as soil health degradation, water pollution, and India's dependence on fertilizer imports.

He emphasized that nano-fertilizers are not a temporary measure; rather, they represent a permanent, scientifically proven solution that offers reduced costs, increased productivity, healthier soil, and meaningful environmental conservation. He further added that these products would also strengthen the cooperative ecosystem, wherein PACS and cooperative networks would play an increasingly pivotal role in their distribution and in educating farmers.

The Chairman underscored that the 'Nano Maha Abhiyan' (Nano Mega Campaign) has been designed as a nationwide awareness and behavioral-change initiative with four distinct objectives: the large-scale promotion of Nano Urea Plus, Nano DAP, Nano NPK, Nano Zinc, and Nano Copper; training farmers on their correct application—primarily through foliar spraying; reducing dependence on traditional fertilizers; and ensuring last-mile connectivity through the cooperative network.

He acknowledged that many farmers remain unaware of the proper usage of nano-fertilizers, and that confusion and hesitation still persist. He stated, "We must overcome this through village-level awareness campaigns, by strengthening every PACS, and through field demonstrations. Once a farmer witnesses the results with their own eyes, trust will follow naturally."

Concluding his address, Mr. Sanghani issued a call to transform the Nano Maha Abhiyan into a true mass movement. He affirmed that nano-fertilizers are not merely products; they represent the pathway to making Indian agriculture self-reliant, a commitment to safeguarding our soil and environment, and the most effective means of enhancing farmers' incomes. He declared, "Let us collectively resolve: Lower costs, higher yields, and a healthy environment—Nano Fertilizers in every field. This is the New India. This is *Atmanirbhar Bharat* (Self-reliant India)."

IFFCO has achieved sales of over 21.8 million bottles of Nano Urea Plus Liquid and over 6.426 million bottles of Nano DAP Liquid. IFFCO's Nano Zinc and Nano Copper products have also... During the year, impressive sales of 57 lakh and 2 lakh bottles were recorded, respectively. It is noteworthy that 208.26 lakh bottles of Nano Urea Plus are equivalent to 9.37 lakh metric tonnes of conventional Urea, and 57.89 lakh bottles of Nano DAP are equivalent to 2.89 lakh metric tonnes of DAP, reflecting substantial savings in logistics, energy, and import costs for the country.
