Illegal Immigrants: Two people deported from America were arrested after reaching Amritsar. Two youths from Rajpura in Patiala district, who were among the 116 illegal Indian immigrants sent to Amritsar airport by C-17 aircraft on Saturday night, were arrested in a murder case. Senior Superintendent of Police Nanak Singh confirmed the arrest of the accused from Amritsar airport.

He said that the accused Sandeep Singh alias Sunny and Pradeep Singh were wanted in a murder case registered in 2023. A case was registered against Sandeep and four others in Rajpura in June 2023. During the investigation, the name of Pradeep, another accomplice of Sandeep, was added to the case.
A team led by Rajpura police station in-charge was sent to Amritsar airport on Saturday to arrest both the accused. A plane carrying 116 illegal immigrants from the US landed at Amritsar International Airport late Saturday night.

According to media reports, a third plane carrying 157 Indian deportees may land in Amritsar on Sunday (February 16). Earlier there were reports that 119 migrants would be on board the plane, but now according to the updated list of passengers, the number of people deported in the second batch is 116.

Indian deportees landed in Amritsar
According to sources, among the deported people, 65 are from Punjab. At the same time, 33 people from Haryana, eight from Gujarat, two each from Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, while one each from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir landed from the US plane.
