The police have achieved a major breakthrough in the ongoing campaign against criminals in Greater Noida. A joint team from the Ecotech-1 Police Station and the Crime Branch arrested two active members of the notorious Sundar Bhati gang following an exchange of fire. Responding with counter-firing, the police cordoned off the area and apprehended both accused individuals.

According to the information received regarding this incident, the two individuals currently in police custody—identified as Dharmendra alias DK and Arjun—were arrested by the joint team of the Ecotech-1 Police Station and the Crime Branch near Yamuna Pushta, in the village of Gharbara, following an encounter. It was reported that the police team had received intelligence regarding the presence of suspicious criminals near Yamuna Pushta in Gharbara village.

Criminals Open Fire on Police Team

Acting swiftly on this intelligence, the joint team of the police and the Crime Branch arrived at the scene. When the police and Crime Branch personnel attempted to intercept them, the criminals opened fire on the police party with the intent to kill. Following a retaliatory response by the police, the two accused individuals were successfully arrested.

Both Accused Belong to the Sundar Bhati Gang

According to DCP Greater Noida, Dr. Praveen Ranjan Singh, both of the arrested individuals are affiliated with the Sundar Bhati gang—a mafia outfit officially designated as such by the administration. The prime accused, Dharmendra alias DK, possesses an extensive criminal history and has previously been involved in numerous police encounters and cases registered under the Arms Act.

Weapons Recovered from the Accused

DCP Greater Noida, Dr. Praveen Ranjan Singh, further stated that an illegal .32 bore pistol, a .315 bore country-made pistol (Tamancha), and a significant quantity of live and spent cartridges were recovered from their possession. Currently, the police are interrogating the duo to gather information regarding the gang's future plans and the whereabouts of their other accomplices.
