IND vs AUS: The third match of the five-match T20I series between India and Australia was played on Sunday, November 2nd, at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The Indian team won by five wickets. India was set a target of 187 runs to win, which they achieved in 18.3 overs. This was the highest successful run chase by any team in a T20I on this ground. With this win, India has leveled the T20I series 1-1.

India's impressive win over Australia in the Hobart T20I

The fourth match of the T20 series will be played on Thursday, November 6th, in Gold Coast. In the Hobart T20I, Washington Sundar scored an unbeaten 49 off 23 balls, including four sixes and three fours, in the run-chase for India. The first match of the T20I series between the two teams was washed out due to rain in Canberra. Australia won the T20I in Melbourne by 4 wickets.

Washington Sundar wreaked havoc

Abhishek Sharma also appeared in form in the run-chase for India, but his innings didn't last long. Abhishek fell to Nathan Ellis for 25 runs (16 balls, 2 fours, and 2 sixes). Ellis then dismissed Shubman Gill (15 runs). Captain Suryakumar Yadav (24 runs) also looked in touch, but he also lost his wicket. After Suryakumar's dismissal for the third wicket, Axar Patel (17 runs) and Tilak Varma combined to take the score past 100. Ellis gave Australia a major breakthrough by dismissing Axar Patel.

After Axar Patel's dismissal, Tilak Verma and Washington Sundar forged a crucial 34-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Tilak fell to Xavier Bartlett for 29. From there, Washington Sundar (49*) and Jitesh Sharma (22*) led India to victory.

Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, all-rounder Washington Sundar, and wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma played for the Indian team. Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, and Sanju Samson were dropped from the playing XI for this match. Meanwhile, Australia included all-rounder Sean Abbott in place of Josh Hazlewood.
