India historic gold for men's compound archery team at World Championships
Indian archers have performed brilliantly in the World Archery Championship 2025 going on in Guangzhou, South Korea. India has captured the gold medal in the Compound Men's Team event. While in the Compound Mixed Team event, Indian archers managed to win the silver medal.
India created history in World Archery Championship
In the Compound Men's Team event, India defeated France 235-233 in the final. For the first time, India has got the gold medal in the Men's Compound event of the World Archery Championship. The second seeded Indian team included Rishabh Yadav, Aman Saini and Prathamesh Phuge.
In its journey to reach the final, India defeated strong teams like Australia, giant USA and Turkey.

The score was tied at 176-176 after three sets in the final. In such a situation, the Indian trio kept their composure in the decisive round. In the last round, India scored 59 points, which were 2 more than France. Rishabh Yadav performed well in this entire match. Rishabh had secured eighth position by scoring 709 points in the qualifying.

In the final of the compound mixed team event, India had to face defeat against Netherlands by a close margin of 155-157 and had to be content with the silver medal. While team India included Rishabh Yadav and Jyothi Surekha Vennam. The fourth seeded Indian mixed team had defeated Germany, El Salvador and Chinese Taipei before reaching the final.

However, India's compound women's team performed disappointingly in the World Championship. Although the trio of Jyoti, Preneet Kaur and Prithika Pradeep lost to Italy 229-233 in the second round.
