In the instructions issued by the Home Ministry, it was said that the states will organize mock drills for effective civil security on May 7, 2025 so that the safety of the people can be ensured in any emergency.

Training to citizens, students etc. on civil security aspects to protect themselves in case of hostile attack.

Provision of timely concealment of critical plants/installations

Updating and rehearsal of evacuation plan

The timing of the central government's order is very important. The last time such an exercise was conducted was in 1971, the year when India and Pakistan fought a two-front war.
