India-Tanzania relations reach new heights, several MoUs signed
The President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan arrived in New Delhi for a 3 day visit to India. The president was welcomed on October 8, Sunday by the Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi at the Delhi airport. She received a formal welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and then laid a wreath at Rajghat.
What did the President of Tanzania say?
Talking about her visit, the President said "I would like to express Tanzania's appreciation for the excellent existing relationship between our two countries which has been there for decades. My expectations from this visit is going to open new avenues for the political and economic development and the economic cooperation that will lead to strategic partnerships of our two countries. "

PM Modi said that this is the first visit by any head of state from Africa after African Union is included in the G20. This is a historic visit by Tanzanian as this visit will boost the relations between the two countries. Both the countries are important partners for investment and bilateral trade. India and Tanzanian tied the historic relationship into strategic relationship. both sides are working on the agreement to boost bilateral trade in local currencies. Tanzania is India's largest and closest development partner. India has supported Tanzania in skill and capacity development through various activities.

India has worked in the sectors of water supply, agriculture, education , health to bring positive impact in the lives of Tanazian citizens. The decision of India to built IIT in Tanzania is an important milestone. Techonology is one of the basis of the bilateral relationship. The agreement signed on Digital Public Good Sharing Agreement will fuel the bilateral relations. The prime minister also expressed his joy regarding the steps taken by Tanzania to take inspiration from success story of UPI.
In the sector of Defense the governments have agreed on the 5 year road map in the sector of defense through which will military training, maritime cooperation, capacity building, defense cooperation, more dimensions will be added. Tanzania has also agreed to join the Global Bio Fuel Alliance which was launched during G20.
Both the countries will also work towards using Space and Nuclear Technology for the benefit purpose of people. Maritime security, piracy, drug trafficking, in the Indian ocean region. India and Tanzania has on agreement on terrorist against humanity. Both the countries will work towards Counter - Terrorism together. Both the countries have historical connections and ties.
Various memorandum of understanding between the two have been signed between the two countries in sectors like sports, maritime industries, successful digital solutions, naval sector, cultural exchange etc.
The President is scheduled to attend the formal dinner today at the Rashtrapati Bhawan hosted by Droupadi Murmu. Further the Tanzanian President will attend a business and investment forum on October 10 before departing on October 11.
