Reports from news platform The Telegraph indicate that a group of hackers, self-identified as 'Indian Cyber Force,' temporarily disabled the official website of the Canadian Armed Forces.

The incident unfolded in the wake of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's assertions of possible involvement by "agents of the Indian government" in the Nijjar case, a claim vehemently opposed by India.

The 'Indian Cyber Force' made their bold move in apparent protest against these allegations, sharing a screenshot of the disrupted Canadian Armed Forces website on social media. The hackers issued a stern warning to Canadian authorities, hinting at their capability to exert influence and cause disruption.

According to Daniel Le Bouthillier, the media relations head of the Department of National Defence of Canada, the disruption began around noon, affecting mobile users and some desktop users. However, Bouthillier reassured that there are no broader implications of the hacking, and the disruption was swiftly rectified, as reported by The Globe and Mail.

Canadian authorities are taking the incident seriously, with an ongoing investigation by various branches of the Canadian Forces, including the Canadian Navy, special command groups, and air and space operations. It is worth noting that the hacked website is not affiliated with the Canadian government, whose websites and internal networks are managed and maintained by the National Defence Department.

This incident adds another layer of complexity to the diplomatic row between India and Canada, which has garnered international attention. India's External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, addressed the issue during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, emphasizing the importance of not allowing "political convenience" to shape responses to terrorism and extremism. The situation remains fluid, and international observers are closely monitoring developments as tensions persist between the two nations.
