Indian Leaders Extend Warm Greetings on Janmashtami 2023
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu conveyed their heartfelt wishes to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. PM Modi expressed his desire for new energy and enthusiasm to fill the lives of every citizen, invoking the blessings of Lord Krishna with a "Jai Shri Krishna."
President Droupadi Murmu also extended her warm greetings on the festival, sharing her wishes with the entire nation. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined in the festivities, exclaiming, "Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki! Happy Shri Krishna Janmashtami to the people and devotees of the state. May Lord Krishna bless the entire creation."
Janmashtami, an annual Hindu celebration, marks the birth of Lord Krishna, known for his playful and innocent nature. According to the Hindu calendar, Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, was born on the eighth day of the month of Bhadra, typically falling in August or September in the Western calendar.
The festival is celebrated with various rituals, including prayers to Lord Krishna, ornately decorated swings, traditional dance and music performances, and the exciting 'Dahi-Handi' competition.
Throughout the country, Janmashtami is observed with great zeal and enthusiasm. Temples dedicated to Lord Krishna are adorned with lights and flowers, creating a vibrant and joyous atmosphere that resonates with the spirit of devotion and celebration.
