India’s first aircraft night landing on highway in UP: Rafale-Sukhoi and Jaguar included
For the first time in the country, Indian Air Force fighter planes conducted a night landing drill on Ganga Expressway in Shahjahanpur, UP from 9 pm on Friday. Fighter planes like Mig-29, Rafale, Sukhoi and Jaguar were included in this drill.
Earlier this afternoon, 15 fighter planes did a 'land and go' drill here. For this, a 3.5 km long runway was built on Ganga Expressway. First of all, C-130J Super Hercules aircraft did the 'land and go' drill on the expressway.
This has become the country's first expressway on which fighter aircraft can land and take off during day and night.
While in the drill, only AN-32 fighter plane landed on the expressway. It had to move forward, but the wind was so fast that it move the plane forward. After this, the pilot turned the plane 180 degrees and turned it in the direction of the wind. The Air Force fighter planes drilled for about two hours.

On Saturday also, fighter planes will do air drill during the day. However, there will be no night drill. Ganga Expressway is the fourth such expressway in UP, which has an airstrip. Ganga Expressway is being built at a cost of Rs 36,230 crore. It is 594 km long, which is being built from Meerut to Prayagraj.
14 fighter planes including Rafale, Jaguar, Mirage, Mig-29, Hercules and helicopter MI-70 did land and go on Ganga Expressway. Only MI-70 landed. Then took off after about 15 seconds.

Union Minister Jitin Prasad said - This is a matter of great pride for us. Although an airstrip has built on the Expressway. Airforce planes have landed here. This shows India's strength, confidence and valour. The highway will speed up development.
Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said that everyone has seen the Airforce exercise. This is a matter of pride for Shahjahanpur. A five kilometre airstrip has been built on this 594 kilometre expressway. It can be useful at any time if required.
Summary
The airstrip will impact the economic situation on a large scale. An industrial corridor of 250 acres is also being developed. People will also get employment opportunities from this.
