India's rightful water will stay in India... PM Modi said amid tension with Pakistan
After the Pahalgam attack, India announced a 'water strike' against Pakistan by suspending the Indus Water Treaty. India has stopped the flow of water from the Baglihar dam, after which there is panic in Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that India's water will now be useful for India only.
Earlier, India's rightful water was going out, but now this will not happen. Along with this, PM Modi has made it clear that the decision to stop the Indus Water Treaty will not be taken back.
India rightful water will stay in India
Speaking at a programme on a media house today, Prime Minister Modi said, "There is a lot of discussion in the media about water these days... Earlier, even the water that was India's right used to flow out of the country.
Now India's water will flow for India's benefit, it will be preserved for India's benefit, and it will be used for India's progress."
India has taken several diplomatic steps
The suspension of the Indus Water Treaty is one of the several diplomatic steps taken against Pakistan after the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 26 people were killed in this attack. Of these, 25 were tourists and one was a local person.

This is being considered the most effective step considering Pakistan's dependence on the Indus Water Treaty. India was taking very little water till now due to the 1960 treaty, after which it was taking water. Despite several deadlocks and wars with Pakistan, this treaty was not suspended.
