J&K: 2 soldiers martyred in Kulgam encounter... Fierce encounter with terrorists going on for 9 days
J&K: The Army operation against Lashkar terrorists in Kulgam continues today. Two army soldiers were martyred on Rakshabandhan in the operation against Lashkar terrorists. So far, the body of one terrorist has been recovered in the encounter, while in total two soldiers have been martyred and ten soldiers have been injured. According to sources, at least three or more terrorists are still hiding, taking advantage of dense forests and natural cave-like hideouts.
This encounter has become the longest running anti-terror operation in the last several decades.
Today is the ninth day of the encounter with terrorists in Akhal area of Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The sounds of loud explosions and firing echoed in the area throughout the night. During this, two army soldiers were martyred, while two other soldiers were injured in the firing last night.

Security forces started the operation on August 1
Indian security forces started 'Operation Akhal' on August 1 in search of terrorists in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This action was started after receiving intelligence information about terrorists hiding in the area. It is believed that 2 to 3 terrorists may be hiding here.

Chinar Corps pays tribute
The Chinar Corps posted on X, "Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of brave Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh while performing their duty for the nation. Their courage and dedication will continue to inspire us forever. While Army expresses condolences and solidarity with the families. However the army operation is still ongoing." So far, 1 terrorist has been killed in the this operation.
Firing continued throughout the night
A joint team of the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a search operation based on inputs about the presence of terrorists in the forest area of south Kashmir
