Karni Sena Activists Demand Stringent Action for Murderers" as They Protest Sukhdev Gogamedi's Killing
Rajput leader Raj Shekhawat arrives at Metro Mass Hospital in Jaipur from Gujarat to protest against the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the national president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena.
"We demand that the bullet be answered with the bullet. Those responsible for the murders should face encounter; this is the society's demand," states Shekhawat.
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was fatally shot by unidentified bike-borne assailants in Jaipur, with his body currently at the Metro Mass Hospital.
The Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena has initiated a statewide strike in Rajasthan on Wednesday, cautioning the newly elected BJP government to take the incident seriously. Agitators have blocked vehicles and set tires on fire in protest.
Shekhawat expresses disappointment that despite known threats, security was not provided to Sukhdev Gogamedi.
The Karni Sena warns the incoming BJP government to address the matter seriously or face the wrath of the Rajput community.
"Sukhdev Singh has been murdered with betrayal," declares Raj Shekhawat.
Expressing frustration, the Rajput leader argues that mere arrests won't suffice, as the accused may be released from jail and commit further crimes.
"We demand an impartial investigation that reaches the mastermind, who should also face an encounter. This is our demand," he emphasizes.
Both the BJP and Congress engage in a political blame game over the murder. Outgoing Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condemns the incident, expressing sadness and offering condolences.
Former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje also condemns the murder as highly unfortunate, extending condolences to the bereaved family.
Rajasthan DGP Umesh Mishra reports ongoing raids at potential hideouts of the assailants and details the circumstances of the incident. Karni Sena activists continue their protests, demanding swift action against Sukhdev Gogamedi's killers, bringing the state to a standstill since Tuesday evening.
