Kedarnath: Temple Asks Police to Monitor Video and Reel Recordings after Viral 'Proposal' Video
Days before a video of a woman proposing to her
lover outside Kedarnath temple went viral on social media, the
Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee had written to the police asking them to
keep a close eye on people making videos on the property because they hurt the
feelings of devotees all over the country and the world.

“Some YouTubers and Influencers on
Instagram are creating videos, YouTube shots, and reels on Instagram
against the religious sentiments of people,” the Badrinath-Kedarnath
temple committee wrote in a letter to the police. This has hurt the feelings of
people who go to the temple to pray, as well as many other people all over the
country and the world.
To prevent a similar situation in the future, the
letter urged authorities to “take stick action” against anyone
responsible for offensive movies, YouTube clips, and Instagram stories.
A video of a girl proposing to her boyfriend
recently went viral, and now worshippers are reportedly being requested to turn
off their phones before entering the temple. However, plans to restrict the use
of cell phones within the temple are reportedly in the works.
The young man is seen praying on camera. She drops
to one knee with a ring in her hand before he can process what’s happening. The
boyfriend’s surprise turns to tears, and the two are seen hugging tightly.
The video has aroused debate despite the cuteness
and apparent happiness of the pair it depicts. This has led many people to
argue that cell phones shouldn’t be permitted in churches and other places
of worship.
