The person who held the children hostage is said to be Rohit. Rohit works at the same studio and also runs a YouTube channel. He had been conducting auditions there for the past four or five days.

Regarding the situation, Mumbai Police said, "All the children have been safely rescued from the scene. A man named Rohit Arya has been detained. Police are speaking with him and trying to determine why he took such a step and whether he is truly mentally unstable."
