Rules of Janmashtami fast

On Krishna Janmashtami, take a bath in the morning and take a pledge to fast or worship. This fast is kept without water. The fasting person can consume water only once a day. However, in some circumstances, fasting can also be kept on water or fruit diet. Be completely sattvic on this day.

Give Shri Krishna Panchamrit bath with milk, curd, honey, sugar and finally ghee

Then bathe him with water. Offer yellow clothes, flowers and Prasad to Shri Krishna. Keep in mind that the things to be offered should be offered only by putting them in a conch. The person observing fast or worship should not wear black or white clothes on this day.
