Last discussion in the old parliament, opposition confused over agenda
The special parliamentary session is about to start and the opposition parties are still not sure about the agenda of this session. The first day of special parliamentary session starts today and it will mark 75 years of parliamentary journey in the country. Prime Minister Modi will be delivering a speech in the session on the 75 years of parliament. parliament will be discussing the learning and achievement of the past 5 years of the parliament.
An all party meeting was called yesterday where the government placed it's agenda for the session ahead, however the opposition party leaders are confused over the agenda.
Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury says that the government has not provided proper clarity over the agenda and that they are worried about the real intension of the government. On the other side AAP MP Sanjay Singh says that government may announce that the 5 year tenure of MP's is over and may announce elections.
JMM MP Mahua Maji says that the government di not provide clarity on the agenda of the session and that whether this is a special session or a normal session.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi raises suspicious on the timing of special session amidst Hartalika teej and Ganesh Chaturthi. He says that there is no special agenda and the government has not clarified its agenda in the All party meeting held.
