Lawyer attempts to throw shoe at CJI in Supreme Court: 'Won't tolerate insult to Sanatan'

A lawyer attempted to create a ruckus in the court of Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai today. It is alleged that the lawyer even attempted to throw a shoe at the CJI. Police detained the accused lawyer immediately after the incident. Meanwhile, Justice Gavai remained calm throughout the incident, and the court proceedings continued as usual. He said that these things "do not affect me."

Lawyer attempted to throw a shoe at the Chief Justice of India

It is being reported that the lawyer went to the desk and took out his shoe and tried to throw it at the judge, but the security personnel present in the court intervened in time and took the lawyer out. While leaving, the lawyer was heard saying, "We will not tolerate the insult of Sanatan." The accused lawyer is said to be Rakesh Kishore. He was registered with the Supreme Court Bar in 2011.

Police detained the accused lawyer

The CJI was unaffected by this incident and asked the other lawyers present in the court to continue their arguments. He said, "Ignore all this. We are not affected. These things do not affect me." Given the seriousness of the matter, immediate action was taken, and security has been increased in the court premises.

Why was the shoe attempt made at the CJI?

A lawyer reacted to the incident, saying, "Today's incident is very sad. If a lawyer, in a courtroom, attempted to assault someone, we strongly condemn it. Look, he is a member of our bar. We just investigated and found out he was a member since 2011."

Lawyer Demands Action

The lawyer said in his statement, "This is a very sad incident. Therefore, we can say that what has come to light is that he attempted to throw a shoe at the Honorable CJI (Lord Vishnu Matters). This is a very sad incident. We strongly condemn it, and if this incident is true, action should be taken."
