Viral Video: A fresh incident of violence has come to light in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, where fruit sellers beat up a group of devotees going to Maa Purnagiri temple. The debate that started between the two groups over the prices of fruits soon turned into violence.
Now many videos of the incident have gone viral on social media.
A group of devotees going to Maa Purnagiri temple in Tanakpur, Uttarakhand, had stopped in Sambhal to buy some fruits, when suddenly the debate over the prices of fruits increased and violence broke out between devotees and fruit sellers.
Fruit sellers and devotees clashed over the price
The violence in Sambhal increased to such an extent that the police had to be called but the hooliganism continued even after the police arrived. Several people have been detained, and investigation has been started. The devotees were buying fruits after getting down from the bus, when an argument broke out between them and the fruit vendors over the prices of the fruits.

Fight in Sambhal over oranges price
The vendors chased the devotees on the road and then beat them with sticks. Videos of the violence have surfaced on the internet, in which fruit vendors are seen beating the devotees. Apart from this, bikes fallen on the road are also clearly visible and people present there are seen trying to stop the fight.
Sambhal has been in a lot of controversies before this too
Although this is not the first incident that Sambhal has been caught in the violence. Last year, large-scale violence broke out between the police and a group of protesters on the court's order of Shahi Jama Masjid in the UP district. After which prohibitory orders were issued, four people died and many were seriously injured.
The authorities also banned the entry of outsiders into the district. In such a situation, recently Sambhal was also in a lot of controversies regarding Holi and Juma.
Users demanded strict punishment
The video has been shared from an account named Ghar ke kalesh, which has been viewed by millions of people so far, while many people have also liked the video. In such a situation, social media users are giving different reactions to the video.

One user wrote...where has the police of Sambhal gone, the name is big but the darshan is small. Another user wrote...one has to hesitate to even call people like these devotees. While another user wrote...the culprits should get strict punishment, the whole atmosphere has been spoiled.
