'It seems like we are living in Pakistan'

An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA has put his party in trouble with one of his statements. Punjab's Dharamkot MLA Devendrajit Singh has accused the AAP government of treating his area step-motherly. He said that in the last three years, no health-related project has been given in my assembly constituency.

He said why such treatment with Moga. Is Moga not a part of Punjab? It seems like we are living in Pakistan. The AAP MLA gave this statement during the budget session in the assembly.

Devendrajit Singh has accused the AAP government

Prior to his statement, Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh said that there is no proposal under consideration of the government to upgrade Dharamkot PHC (Primary Health Centre) to a sub-divisional hospital. The minister said that the PHC comes under the Community Health Centre Kot Ise Khan, located eight kilometres away.

The minister said, there is also no proposal to open a trauma centre in Dharamkot. There are already five trauma centres running in the state of Punjab… in Jalandhar, Pathankot, Khanna, Ferozepur and Fazilka.

What did the MLA say on the minister's statement?

On the minister's statement, the AAP MLA said that Dharamkot seat is a backward area. He said, we are also residents of Punjab and our district is Moga. Our government has not given a single health-related project to Dharamkot assembly constituency.

Only two out of eight posts of MBBS doctors have been filled in Kot Ise Khan CHC so far. Moga has been treated step-motherly.
