Madhya Pradesh has appointed Mohan Yadav as its next chief minister
Mohan Yadav, a member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Ujjain South and leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), has been named the state's new chief minister.
Following BJP's victory in the recently held Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections, the saffron party selected the state's former education minister to serve as the next chief minister. Mohan Yadav is a Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) member.
Mohan Yadav represents the Ujjain district's Dakshin constituency in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. 2013 saw him win the Ujjain Dakshin seat and become an MLA for the first time. He was elected again in the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, this time representing the Ujjain Dakshin seat as an MLA.
In the Madhya Pradesh government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he was sworn in as a cabinet minister on July 2, 2020.
Mohan Yadav expressed his gratitude
Upon winning his seat, Mohan Yadav tweeted, "This victory of more than 13,000 votes is dedicated with complete humility to every person of my area, every dear sister, every godlike worker of the BJP, and the organization of BJP." We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you for your blessings, love, and affection.
Following his selection as the next chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Ujjain South MLA Mohan Yadav expressed gratitude to the state and central leadership and vowed his government will do its best to fulfill its obligations.
BJP emerged victorious with 163 seats
A legislative party meeting was held earlier in the day by Madhya Pradesh's Asha Lakra, Dr. K. Laxman, and Manohar Lal Khattar, the central observers for the BJP.
Madhya Pradesh conducted a single phase of assembly seat elections on November 17. On December 3, the results were totaled.

After fighting for nearly 20 years in power in the state, the BJP emerged victorious with 163 seats, while the Congress came in far behind with just 66 seats.
