Make Kada Prasad At Home On Guruparv:  The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Guru and founder of Sikhism, will be celebrated on November 5th this year. He was born in a village called Talwandi in Punjab, now in Pakistan. Now known as Nankana Sahib, the place is known as Nankana Sahib. His father's name was Mehta Kalu Ji and his mother's name was Mata Tripta Ji. From childhood, Guru Ji possessed qualities of compassion and righteousness.

He preached humanity, equality, and truth throughout his life. He believed that God is one and resides in everyone. He opposed caste, discrimination, and superstition.

 His three main teachings were: Naam Japo (remember God), Kirat Karo (work honestly), and Vand Chhako (share your earnings with others). These teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji still guide everyone today.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birth anniversary

Guruparv is celebrated with reverence and devotion by the Sikh community as well as people of all religions. On this day, special recitations, kirtans, and langar are organized in Gurudwaras. A variety of dishes are prepared for the langar. The most special among the prasads is the Kada Prasad, which is loved by everyone. This prasad can also be made at home. Let's learn about its recipe.

The flour and ghee pudding given as prasad in the Gurudwara is called Kada Prasad. Made with ghee and flour, it tastes delicious. You can make it at home like this: You will need 1 cup ghee, 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and 2.5 cups water.


First Method

To make the Kadha Prasad, first place a large pan on the stove and heat ghee in it. Once heated, add the flour and sugar, stirring thoroughly. Then, add water, mix well, and cook over low heat until the desired consistency is reached. The Kadha Prasad is ready. If desired, you can also sprinkle finely chopped almonds, cashews, or raisins on top.

Second Method

First, heat 2 cups of water and sugar in a pan. There's no need to bring it to a boil. Now, take another heavy-bottomed pan or pan and heat ghee in it. Add the flour and fry it over low heat, stirring constantly. Continue to fry until the flour turns golden brown and a pleasant aroma appears. This should take about 8 to 10 minutes. Now, pour the sugar and water mixture into the pan. It should not steam. Stir constantly and ensure that no lumps form. When the pudding begins to thicken and the ghee begins to separate from the edges, turn off the heat. Top with finely chopped almonds, cashews, and raisins and serve.

Kada Prasad is distributed in the Gurudwara and after the prayers, which is very delicious. It is a flour-based pudding. If you wish, you can easily make Kada Prasad at home.
